Liverpool Set Coutinho Valuation At £68m
According to reports emanating from France, Liverpool have set Philippe Coutinho’s transfer valuation at £68m after interest from PSG, Real Madirid and Barcelona.
We reported earlier this week that PSG were the most likely club to make a bid for Coutinho but this does not mean that Liverpool will accept any bid.
With Liverpool flying high in the league and having reached the quarter final of the EFL Cup, there is every chance that this season could prove to be a successful year with the prospect of Champions League football next season a real possibility.
Coutinho is happy at the club and Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer Coutinho an improved contract in the next few weeks in order to solidify Coutinho’s future.
The price tag of £68m is believed to be more to deter a bid than an actual release clause but there is sure to be a similar type of high release clause inserted into any new contract offered to the player.
Coutinho is a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s team and Klopp is sure to pull out all the stops to keep Coutinho at the club but the Brazilian is sure to attract interest with the performances he has put in this season.
PSG have apparently made Coutinho their number one target after allegedly having a bid for him rejected in the summer.
